A Buffet of Lies

Is it just me, or does it seem like lying has become more prevalent and even admissible in our culture?

When children tell fibs, parents have a way of spotting the fabrication right away. When our children were young, if Melissa or I suspected one of them was lying, we’d ask him to stick his tongue out. If his tongue was black, he was telling a lie.  More often than not, he would press his lips together and look at us with big eyes, knowing he was caught.

While kids (who are related to us) can be extremely cute when they fib, adults can be dangerously destructive.

Operating without any obvious moral foundation, many on the Woke left have stumbled into a deep integrity pit of telling monstrous fibs — to gain political power.  Joshua Arnold refers to it as an “epidemic of deception” or a “buffet of lies.”

Rather than a black tongue, words give them away.  A lying left-leaning adult will label truth “disinformation” or “misinformation” or “hate speech”, before kicking into rapid censor mode.

Isn’t it a bit silly to think that truth can be labelled “hate speech”?

Anyway, since deceit no longer carries the social consequences it once did, deception has become a bang-up means to an end for those lacking a moral compass*.

Choosing to lie or speak the truth seems to come down to worldview.  Since no Woke moral value exists to make lying not okay, whatever it takes to sway public opinion is now perfectly okay — especially just prior to an election.

So please, let’s not vote for anyone or a party which lacks the integrity to tell the truth, or lies simply to regain power in order to then just do as they please.  Here in the U.S., we’ve had enough of that these past four years.

Here’s a question to ponder:  If it’s true that lying is so corrosive to trust, then why do so many seeking public office continue to engage in it?

Well, there’s the playbook for the Woke left from one of its architects.

For the rest of us, I’m thinking there is huge significance in the final words in the canon of scripture of Messiah — the only one around whom time revolves, and in whom redemption is found …

“Behold, I am coming soon!  My reward is with me, and I will give to everyone according to what he has done.  I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End.  Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.  Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.”

*In addition to lying, a lack of a “moral compass” is clearly evident when supporting: dismembering babies, mutilating teens, sexualising children, counterfeit marriage, normalising aberrant sexuality and bypassing parental authority.
